Dawn Rae Leonard, PTA
Dawn joined Georgetown Therapy as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in early 2009. Initially, she received a general Associate of Arts degree from the Community College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas and then earned an Associate degree in Physical Therapy from Provo College in Provo, Utah. Prior to obtaining her Texas license to practice physical therapy in Central Texas, Dawn served as a PTA in an outpatient rehabilitation facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico followed by working in an outpatient setting in Austin which specialized in treating sports injuries.
Dawn's commitment to physical therapy and community service is demonstrated by her professional certification as a Level II AHA Therapist in Hippotherapy by the American Hippotherapy Association, which promotes the use of the movement of horses as a treatment strategy in therapy sessions for people living with disabilities. She has graciously shared her specialized hippotherapy expertise as a volunteer across the country in Salt Lake City and Albuquerque as well as the Ride on Center for Kids (ROCK) in Georgetown, Texas.
When she is not working or volunteering, Dawns enjoys spending time with family, friends, and "her babies" - two cats and a dog. As an adventurer, Dawn engages in many outdoor activities including camping and fishing and can be found at the Utah Shakespearean Festival every summer since 1997.
Dawn's illuminating smile and quick wit make her a favorite among patients at the Georgetown and Liberty Hill clinic locations.
